Quantum computing company QuEra Computing announced the completion of a financing round of more than $230 million, with new investors including Google's quantum artificial intelligence business unit, SoftBank Vision Fund and Valor Equity Partners.
That's according to a recent QuEra survey of 927 people (researchers, executives, media, hobbyists, etc.) connected to the quantum computing space. Of those surveyed, 74.9% "expect quantum computing to become a better alternative to traditional computing under certain workloads in the next 10 years". When asked about the pace of development in the quantum computing space, more than half said "faster than I expected" or "much faster than I expected". In academia, that number rises to 55%.
